Whoo Hoot ... Friday?

OK, so I know I'm really late, but better late than never, right? A few Whoo Hoots for the end of the week (instead of Wednesday):

Lots more lovely sunny weather; and all my washing is getting dry.

Going to spend a week with my sis in about a week!!!!! Can't wait! (I know I said this in my last Whoo Hoots, but it is definitely worth a second listing!)

Seeing our friends Leela and Topaz today; they came over to play and we had a fun time outside.
Runner-up again for my last Olympics layout.
Very happy with the latest layout I did for the Olympics (below). Really tried some new stuff and pleased with the way it turned out.

Had a great time meeting all of the lovely ladies from the Sketchbook at the crop on Saturday; and watched some amazing creativity - have to admit, was slightly intimidated! But although I didn't finish any pages, I love the page I mostly completed. (BTW, I think everyone there must have been laughing their a** off at me - either that or thinking I am a little loopy, for not finishing even one page in the over 9 hours I was there - but I did warn you, I am a very slow scrapper and I wasn't kidding!) Was so nice to spend the day with others who are as crazy about scrapbooking as I am, and I was happy that all the women were as nice IRL as they are online.

Paid my deposit for the Sketchbook Retreat - yahoo!!! Very excited, and also feeling a little trepidation - I have to admit, I am a little precious and don't usually 'do' camping, and not sure how I am going to cope sharing a room with 4 other ladies. What if I snore? What if I scare everyone with how I look in the morning??!! How far away is the bathroom and showers?? What if noone talks to me?? Yeah, I know, I'm pathetic and really need to learn to chill out. I know I will be fine once I am there; I will just have a slight panic attack before hand, so just ignore me while I sort myself out!

Finally got a lot of small, necessary jobs crossed off my to-do list - like making Thank You cards for Aurelia's birthday pressies, and sorting my printed photos into chronological order.

OK, I could go on, but that will do for today. I will leave you with my latest favourite layout; Challenge 5 from the Sketchbook Olympics.

I am really happy with this page. The colours are a little blown out in this photo; it is much prettier IRL. When I saw these Daisy Bucket papers, I knew they were for me - I love the colours and the swirls and flowers. Because it was an outdoor theme, I picked some photos of Aurelia playing and mucking about with her cousins in Waihi. They were on this kind-of stone stage, covered with moss, and they were just having such a fantastic time, totally being themselves. I just loved that the photos were full of movement and motion and blur, except for in the main photo, where Aurelia is completely in focus. I spend hours handcutting the swirls and flowers, and layering them all on a distressed background. I used pearls and kindyglitz for the finishing touches.

Haven't had a chance to even think about the last Olympic Challenge, and with kindy finished I won't have Monday to work on it, so really better get my skates on in the next couple of nights!

OK, hope you all have a lovely time in the school holidays, for those of you at home - looks like the weather might be nice for it, so some time at the beach for us. See you all next week.

Isn't the weather lovely! I am enjoying hanging washing on the outside line instead of the one under our carport ;-)

Your layout is gorgeous ... and we were NOT laughing at you for taking 9 hours to do it! It is such a detailed page, and the fact that it took you all day simply shows how much time & effort went into it (but that's obvious by looking).

We are going to have fun at the retreat! Don't worry, people will talk to you! And I bet you don't look bad in the mornings ;-)

I used to spend a lot of my holidays in Waihi and waihi beach, as my dads family lived there. Lovely layout too so congrats on that. I know you may be a little nervous but you will be fine, I snore when I am tired and I kept a few people awake but you know what thats part of the exeperience and laughter that will happen over the weekend. Now think about this, you will know lots of ladies after going to the crop last week so you will be fine. It's okay to be nervous but I know by the end of the weekend you will be champing at the bit for the next one to come around. Just enjoy the process.

I am so the same as you I take all day to scrap and kind of think it is more about the company than anything.
Retreats are great and hey we all snore and you may find you are last to bed and up scrapping all night.

What fantastic woo hoots! Your feelings at your crop sound exactly like mine my first crop. And so far I have only been to one crop and one camp...though there will be more, just got to make sure they don't clash with DH's trips.
Another gorgeous layout, love all the detail in it!
