Yes, it's that time again. I can't believe how fast the days are going by at the moment. So...- OK, one especially big Whoo Hoot today. 2 weeks ago, after 2 years of trying with no result, we went to a Fertility Specialist. I was so nervous, and had got myself into such a state over the whole thing; I can't even remember why now, but I was so stressed out by the day of the appointment (which was the same week as Aurelia's 3 birthday parties), I was nearly beside myself. I don't think poor DH had any idea of what I was feeling, and I felt like I couldn't really talk to anyone. Anyway, the Specialist was very nice, and best of all, very positive about our chances of conceiving. I am booked in next Tuesday for a day surgery that may or may not help matters, and we will go from there. I have never been under general anaesthetic before, so a little nervous, but more hopeful that things are finally going to get sorted. At least I feel like we are finally doing something; it has been so painful just sitting round every month hoping and wishing. And then trying and going through it all over again. And I know how lucky I am to already have one wonderful daughter; it's just that I never planned for her to be an only child. So, I am happy to be feeling like we may now have some options.
- I was a runner-up/honourable mention in the first challenge for the Olympics. Very happy!! Especially considering the awesome talent in the gallery.
- I heard from my oldest friend, Leanne, who is living in Melbourne now. We do keep in touch, but only sporadically (we are both a bit hopeless - but especially me!), and it was so nice to hear from her. We have been best friends since we met at Primary School at age 5!! And she has been checking out my blog - hi Leanne!!
- My lovely hubby got us some whitebait for dinner - yum!! It is a bit of a luxury for us; he mentioned something about it being as costly as gold, but then, he is Dutch - sorry, honey! AND, he said he only got it 'cos he loves me!! How sweet is that? (If you knew my DH, you would know that is a pretty big deal!) So thank you, honey.
OK, I think that is enough for one day. Off blog-hopping shortly, but before I go, I will leave you with my entry for last week's challenge for the Olympics; Rhythmic Gymnastics!! We had to use ribbon and flourishes/swirls.

The first photo is taken on a black blanket background, and the second to show the transparency. I am pretty happy with this layout; I had wanted to do a transparent layout for the longest time, and this pretty one from Hambly was perfect with the swirls printed on it already. I used ribbon to thread through holes I made in the edges, and I also made all the flowers with scalloped ribbon. I love this cheeky photo of my baby too. The journalling reads: I used to dream of having a beautiful little girl just like you. One I could dress up prettily, and hug and kiss anytime I wanted. And then you were born. And it slowly dawned on me that you weren't just a pretty little doll for me to play with. You are a person with your own desires and dreams. And that makes it even more special that you are such a loving little girl, always happy to kiss and snuggle your Mumma. I love that we have such a close, affectionate relationship. Love you always. XXX.
The third challenge, the Decathlon, due Midnight next Monday, is to only use 10 elements on a layout. No more, no less. So, one element is a photo, another is the background paper, another is a photo mat, another the journalling block - so 10 elements is not many!! Better go print off a very large photo... Have a great week!

Lapraoscopy Tracy? The surgery and is a breeze, but you will wake up with gas between your shoulder blades and that's pretty uncomfortable for a few hours - I found a wheat bag between my shoulder blades helped, but really all you want to do is burp (a few hundred times LOL!). Congrats on the Olympics, I'm so not suprised your work is stunning - wish I had half your talent.
That is wonderful news about your appt with the Fertility Specialists. Great that you've been given positive feedback and I hope that things move along nicely for you now :-)
Absolutely agree with Trace, your layouts are beautiful and it's no surprise that you got the points for Challenge #1. I LOVE your layout for Challenge #2 also, it's so unique (with the transparency) and gosh your little girl is just the BEST subject for your lovely pages! She is SO CUTE!
I agree with Hannah ... your little girl is stunning! I really, really love your week 2 layout ... you have a whole lot of talent Tracy. Hope your fertility efforts prove fruitful.
Thats so neat that you have something to look forwards too. Generals are not too bad you will be fine.
And btw I think your scrapbooking is just gorgeous. I am sure we will see you on a design team at some stage.
I am so excited for you with your visit to fertility specialists! I totally know where you are at...been there done that! I don't know if your noticed the 71/2 year age gap between my boys...like you I never planned for Tobyn to be an only child and we had done the adoption classes and had our profile all ready to go when we moved to the States and got treatment there and lo and behold we got our 2nd child. Always thought I would have 3 but now I really feel my family is complete.
As for the op, if it is a laparoscopy Trace gave you good info. GOOD LUCK!!!
Love your layout again, you are so amazingly talented. And your wee Aurleia just pops off every page, absolutely gorgeous.
Hi Tracy :)
Your wee girl is so totally adorable. A real poppet :)
I was thinking Laparoscopy too. I've had one.
We have been through fertility treatment to conceive all our children except one. I wont write our whole story here but if you feel like emailing me, if you want someone to listen or to hear about our experience, whatever you want: please just email.
It is great to hear that you are receiving treatment and that the specialist are moving along so quickly with tests etc.
omgosh, your layout (not to mention your baby girl!) is absolutly gorgeous!!! All the very best for next week, will keep you in my thoughts!
