Family Days...

I have had a lovely couple of days with my darling, Aurelia. On Friday, her Daddy was working so we went with a friend and her son to Lollipops. We finally left 3 hours later, after climbing, sliding, jumping and general merry-making. I was completely exhausted!! Who needs exercise - just playing with Aurelia is enough! As if that wasn't enough working out for one day, I then had to jump on the tramp with her (didn't realise when I bought it that she would always want me on it with her!!! duh!). Today, we had a great family day at MOTAT. None of us had ever been there before, and didn't realise how great it was. So much to look at; we were there most of the day. Daddy's at work again tomorrow, so Aurelia and I are going to spend another nice day together. I recently decided I wasn't spending enough 'quality' time with her; sure, we are together every day, but I think I was letting her play on her own too much while I did other stuff. So I am now making a concerted effort to play with her, and spend lots of time with her. And I am actually really enjoying it. We have always been very close, but I know how much she loves it when I make the effort to really interact with her. I just need more hours in the day to do housework and scrapbooking!

I'm currently working on my second challenge for the Olympics so will leave you with a pic of some cards I made recently for my sis, sister-in-law and a friend. I had great fun playing with my new Fancy Pants stamps (50% off on sale!!! - gotta love a bargain). I am in LOVE with Brilliance inks at the moment, and love that you can get them in the little tear-drop size - I have so many pretty colours!! I pop dotted some of the flowers, used my Stampin' Up scallop circle punch on DCWV glitter cardstock, and added a scallop edge. I am very happy with how the butterfly turned out as well; I stamped it on the card first, then on acetate (I stamped with Brilliance ink on the rough side of an inkjet printable transparency), cut it out, folded up the wings slightly, then glued onto the card-stamped image. I also kindy-glitzed the wings a little. It is very pretty in real-life; looks a little washed-out in the photo. I hope the recipients liked them!

Ok, hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I will post my next layout soon.

The cards look stunning Tracy. Sounds like you have all been having a lot of fun - have you done rock climbing with her? Our four year olds love that, we go over to Morrin Rd in Glen Innes, but there may be one closer to you.

Sounds like you are having lots of lovely quality time together :-)
I find that my kids are also better behaved when they have plenty of that one-on-one time, although that might have something to do with the dynamics of having 2 boys! Who knows!
