Oh, Happy Day!!

Wow, I am so excited!! You know that layout from my last post, yep, the one that wasn't my favourite? Well, it won me a prize! I entered it into the Celebrity Challenge over at http://www.sketchbooknz.com/ and Laura Vegas, the celebrity, (you can check out her blog here: http://www.lauravegas.typepad.com/ ) picked my layout as the winning entry! Which really rocked my world! The entries were all so lovely and creative, and I was shell-shocked to be picked, to say the least. And my prize ... a Tarisota kit http://www.tarisota.com.au/ !!! Wow!!! I absolutely adore Tarisota kits, and am so stoked! My first prize ever for a scrapbook page!

Anyway, enough of all that. Just a quick post today 'cos my gorgeous little one is sick. She is usually so hardy and energetic, and it is so strange to see her not want to get out of bed.

I will leave you with another layout I made for http://www.scrapbookingbydesign/ for their 'So You Think You Can Scrap' competition; I was quite happy with this one and I got quite a few points for it. For this competition, we were basically copying the style of someone different from their Design Team each week. It was really the first time I used paint on my background, and whilst I think the paint on this one was a bit ... perfect and straight, and not messy enough, next time I know to be a bit carefree and casual with it!! Yes, now you know, I am a total perfectionist, and am trying to learn how to relax a little more re my layouts. Oh, and just so you know right from the outset, I didn't get anywhere in this comp, but I did come close to getting third!! The standard of entries into this competition was very high, and each week the gallery was filled with lots of really gorgeous layouts, so I was pretty happy to get any points at all.

OK, have a good weekend, and I hope none of you have any flooding or other weather-related problems. Oh, and I also wanted to say a big thanks to Trace, for explaining bloglines to me - now I can visit all my fave blogs when they have new posts!!

Congrats on the win - what an awesome prize. Heartfelt journalling on your layout Tracy. Having not been able to conceive ourselves, with nothing being able to tell us why, I have great empathy for what you must be feeling. I saw on the forum you are in South Auckland - what suburb? Only ask as we are south east..
